MemryX Inc was co-founded by Dr. Wei Lu, a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan since 2005, highly influential expert in memory devices, neuromorphic computing, and in-memory computing systems, IEEE Fellow, and previously co-founder of Crossbar Inc; and Dr. Zhengya Zhang, a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan since 2009, and expert in VLSI circuits and systems for computing, communications and signal processing.

MemryX is based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, with branches in Taipei/Hsinchu, Taiwan. Key management team members include Tony Chiang, VP PM, with 20 years of product management, business development and R&D experience in MediaTek (10 years) and RealTek (7 years), and James Wu, VP Sales, with 20 years of Marketing, Sales & Engineering experience in semiconductor value chain across foundry (UMC), IP (arm) & EDA (Synopsys).

MemryX completed Series Seed round in February 2019. Within 7 months, the 7-member founding team successfully taped out gen-1 MPU and performed live demo at CES 2020. Gen-2 MPU is being tested by 5 alpha customers in 3 market categories (automotive, edge server, security cameras), and Gen-3 MPU will be taped out in Q3 2021 with mass production in Q2 2022. MemryX recently completed Series A round led by prominent VCs in US, Asia and Europe.
